𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞)

On a lovely Tuesday evening Steve was sitting at home watching his favourite show that comes on every day at 4:00, when an ad popped up showing a brand new item that just got released, Steve was really desperate to get it, cause it was a water gun with 8 squirt holes, who wouldn’t want to get it?.

“Come on Steve we’ve gotta go get some groceries for tonight’s dinner” mum said. While they were sitting in the car, he asked mum and she said no. He didn’t bother getting mad cause it wasn’t worth it, it’ll just get him into trouble, when they were in countdown, he asked her again, she said no again and that was the time he got mad, he was mad and frustrated that he ran away right in front of his mum’s face.

His mum was worried sick, so she went to look for him everywhere. While he was running he stopped and took a break, and from then on he started walking. When he was walking, he walked past an alleyway with a couple of guys talking, Steve saw his friends walking behind the guys talking, (Btw Steve and his friends have a way of communicating) Steve then pulled a face at them, and they pulled one back, they kept on going, and when Steve did it, the men in the alleyway thought Steve was doing it to them, so they got mad, and started chasing after him.

Steve then ran into the train station below the ground, the rest of the guys gave up but one guy didn’t, Steve went to a random person and said “Damn that dudes maaaaad” pointing to the guy chasing him. When the guy got closer, Steve's pants somehow got stuck on the train. The train then took off with Steve stuck on it. While Steve was stuck. He saw his mum on the train, he didn’t know why, but he started knocking on the window as hard as he could. His mum then looked at the window, and got scared for his life.

She tried to do something about it but she couldn’t so she smashed the window into pieces, and borrowed a pair of scissors from someone random, she cut the bit of clothing that was stuck on the train, and he safely got inside of the train. “What are you doing on the train?” Steve asked, “I was looking for you!!”. A Day later they both made it safely at home. Steve went to the kitchen and saw something wrapped on top of the fridge, he went and asked mum what it was, she told him to open it, and it was the Water gun, “Because y ou ran away, you're not gonna get anything new for this whole year! Ok”, “yes mum” said Steve. Anyways they lived happily ever after:).

WALT: Understand how people remember and record the past in different ways.

Today for Inquiry we did research on Captain James Cook and the British Navy Ship from when they discovered New Zealand and Australia. For this task we all had to work in buddies, my buddy was Jane, we both had something to do, one of us worked on one question and the other worked on the 2nd question. I did the first question, the Endeavour. That question was much easier, because there was more information on the Endeavour, cause working on that, led to other interesting things. The Maori question was worked on by my buddy, Jane, she found it quite hard because there was not as much information as the other, and yeah.....that's our/my thought on this task.
Thank you!!

Rona and the Moon

This task was meant for us to post/do last week, I was a bit delayed on posting it, cause I literally had no idea what to write for my task description.
This task is like the other task we did, but is based on another story "Rona and the Moon", if you remember the other task we did was about the  Myth "Te Ika A Maui or Maui and the Great big fish" This story is about a girl who went to get some things for her familys hangi, she then tripped and blamed it on the moon, Marama the moon heard her complaints and got sick of it, so Marama the moon grabbed Rona and kept her, Marama the moon then took good care of Rona, Marama the moon asked Rona if she would like to go back to earth, Rona refused, so from on, Rona lived in the moon, and left a figure of her.

Walt: Make connections across a range of texts

This slideshow is based on the Legend of "Maui and the great fish" when I first heard, I think I was a year 2, anyways when I first heard the story, I found it very interesting, during the years I ended up forgetting about the story, and I when I heard it this year, I was like..."Wait I've heard this before" and the more I recognized it the more I was interested.
BTW *By the Way* go check out my literacy classes blog posts:)

Year 7 step up programme

When the year 8's went to camp it was REALLY fun because the year 7's and some of the year 8's got to stay back and do fun stuff and be leaders at the same time, I found every activity FUN!!, to be VERY honest, I think we should've done cooking but then I think we shouldn't do cooking, because cooking can be a lot of mess and cleaning up at the end would take up lots of our time. Out of all activities I didn't find anything boring, but I think we should've had more time doing Jump Jam, than just doing it for at least....20 minuets. The activities we should really keep for next year is playing sports outside like Soccer, Netball, and Hockey, also I definitely think we should keep 'Minuet to win it', besides everything else, it was a VERY FUN!!!!!!! week.

Strikers!!!

Last week from Wednesday to Friday, the year 8's went to camp, while the year 7's had 3 days of stepping up as a leader. On Wednesday *the first day* we talked about what we were doing for the week and also went into our teams. When we got into our teams, we had to go and come up with a Chant and a team name, my group had 3 options of what name to choose, it was either Scholar Material, The Bangers, or Strikers, we all had a vote, no one chose Scholar Material, and only 1 person chose "The Bangers" but everyone chose "Strikers" anyways after that we made up a chant and A LITTLE BIT of moves to add in it.
During the 3 days I had 2 main highlights.
My first highlight was playing soccer on the first day, I loved playing soccer because the team that we were versing had lots of good players, and we/I found it more challenging and found.

My second and last highlight of the 3 days was playing 'Sing it to win it' on the last day in the morning block, I liked playing it because we easily communicated with each other, if you don't know how to play it then......read this➡️➡️➡️ The teachers or someone had to shout a category, and the people playing has to quickly come up with a song that includes that category before it's your turn, then you keep coming up with songs till you're the winner, if you don't come up with a song before its your turn then.......your OUT of the game.

the whole week was really fun, I also can't wait till year 8 camp next year because it sounded REALLY fun, go check out some of the year 8 blogs to see what they're highlight was OR to see what we did.

This presentation was created by Whaea Kelly, Whaea Kelly was our last rotation teacher, she taught us about the Blue Mountain Coffee, where coffee of Jamaica grows, if you'd like to know more go through this presentation! thank you!

Paul Bunyan: United States

This task is a myth of Paul Bunyan, the country of this is the United States, and the teacher who presented this to us is Mrs Moala, what we did was we watched the myth first, than we all had to write things down, on what the myth included, and anyone who finished got given a map, and had to fill in each place, Paul Bunyan went to, and colour it in, with the colour we had to colour it in.

The Watcher of the South: South Africa

The Watcher of the south, is a myth about from South Africa, from the Xhosa tribe, this task was given and made by Ms Tapuke, she did the country of South Africa, and the Myth of the Xhosa tribe, check out this presentation I filled in, it has the myth we learnt, but with no words, cause everyone was split into 3 groups, and had to try and put the sentences in the right order by ourselves, and check the audio me Jane and Madi did, to hear the myth. Thank you!

Lightning, Thunder, and Rain: Cambodia

This week we have been rotating in different classes to learn different legends and myths from different countries, this task is given by Mrs Ilaoa and she did the country of Cambodia, look through these slides to see the myth, look at my other blog post/poster to see some facts i did about Cambodia on google drawings, thank you!
